Plastic Parts Inspection Report Example

A plastic parts inspection report helps overseas buyers understand whether molded parts match the drawing, approved samples, material requirement, surface expectation, and packaging standard before shipment. Plastic Make Co can support practical inspection records for custom injection molded parts based on buyer requirements.

Example Inspection Report Sections

  • Project name, part number, revision, material, color, and order quantity.
  • Drawing revision and approved sample reference.
  • Critical dimensions and measurement results.
  • Appearance review: sink marks, flash, gate marks, scratches, color, texture, and deformation.
  • Insert or overmolding checks if relevant.
  • Assembly fit check for mating parts, screws, clips, or threaded inserts.
  • Packaging check, label check, carton condition, and shipment photos.

Dimensional Inspection

Critical dimensions should be marked by the buyer on the 2D drawing. Inspection can record nominal dimension, tolerance, actual measured values, judgment, measuring tool, and sample quantity. For plastic parts, measurement conditions and part cooling time may affect results, so the method should be consistent.

Appearance Inspection

Appearance criteria should be agreed before production when possible. Visible surfaces, non-visible surfaces, acceptable gate mark areas, texture, color range, flash limits, and scratch standards should be clear enough for the factory and buyer to judge parts the same way.

Material and Color Confirmation

The report can include material grade, supplier information if required, color reference, sample comparison, and production batch notes. If flame rating, food contact, medical grade, or UV resistance is required, certificates or supplier documents should be requested before production.

Packing and Shipment Review

Before export, packing photos can show inner bags, separators, labels, cartons, pallet condition, and quantity per carton. This reduces avoidable damage and makes incoming inspection easier for overseas buyers.

Request Inspection Support

When sending an RFQ, include critical dimensions, surface requirements, sample approval standard, packaging requirement, and destination country. This allows inspection needs to be included from the beginning instead of added after production starts.

Send Drawings for Review

Upload CAD files, 2D drawings, sample photos, material, quantity, finish, delivery target, and inspection requirements for a practical injection molding review.
